A film shot on friendship between a persons of two different nature, one a intelligent cheater and other a non speaking rude guy. The story is neatly exhibited through this song. This is a background song.
The song starts with a picturesque view of western ghats in Theni district, Tamilnadu. Musically, the song starts with a flute which instantly involves us in the song. We can see the protagonists along with their friends take bath in a pond jumping into it which is a natural sight in rural place.
When Surya introduces his girl friend Laila to Vikram, he feels jealous about his friend. Next shot, Surya & co teaching Vikram to ride a cycle, which he fails and fell down. Sangeetha's love towards Vikram slowly blossoms through this. And Sangeetha riding high cycle with 2 guys.
Surya swinging with banyan ropes accidently falls down and acts as dead. This expresses the cheating and playfulness of the character. This is also showed in the train scene where he makes Vikram shout at Laila.
Love between Vikram and Sangeetha expressed through their eyes and body language. The song picturises the love between the characters among themselves.
Totally the song itself is a short film with the music as background.
Ilayaraja's music with flutes, violins, drums and other instruments blends with the song as skin and flesh. Sriram Parthasarathy has rendered a pleasant voice to the song.
Balasubramaniam has covered greens of Theni area beautifully which forms a treat to eyes.
Overall Bala has done justice to this beautiful song from Ilayaraja. The song captures the real rural life and its people.
Sometimes I feel this song is best ever shot Ilayaraja song.
